Cauley Woodrow to move to Bristol City as Rui Fonte is set to join Fulham

22 Year old Fulham striker Cauley Woodrow is set to join Bristol City on loan with view to a permanent deal. After a second loan spell with Burton didn’t come to fruition. The England under 21 international is not currently in manager Slavisa Jokanovic’s plans, as he is moving on loan again after going to Burton Albion for the second half of last season.

Woodrow has made 54 league appearances for the whites scoring only 8 times. In man fans opinions he is not currently deemed good enough to lead the line in a team chasing promotion as his goalscoring record shows. But aged just 22 Fulham have not given up hope in the young striker yet. This news comes with the impending signing of Rui Fonte from Braga in €9 million deal. Which is set to be announced before Saturday’s game vs Sheffield Wednesday.

Woodrow has never been the first choice striker at Fulham, and after the arrivals of both Aboubakar Kamara and Rui Fonte, Woodrow would be the 3rd choice striker and would definitely not be getting the first team appearances he needs at this stage of his career.

This transfer could be make or break for Cauley Woodrow’s Fulham career as he turns 23 in December and doesn’t look to be becoming the top class Championship striker that Fulham need him to be. Woodrow had a decent spell at Burton last term netting five times in 14 appearances.

What do you make of this loan move for Woodrow? Is this his last chance at proving himself on loan? Or does he need a run in the 1st team at Fulham discuss here or at http://www.friendsoffulham.com/forum/index.php?board=1.0
