Fulham back in for Maxime Poundje

Fulham are back in for their early summer transfer target Bordeaux left back Maxime Poundje. The deal now looks likely to be struck before the transfer deadline.

The deal was put on hold for quite some time as earlier in the summer Poundje failed a medical at Fulham as he was nursing an injury. However now after his injury has recovered Fulham have come back in for the left back and the deal looks likely to go through very soon.

Poundje is about to turn 25 and a former French under 19 international. He appears to have fallen out of favour at Bordeaux as he only made 7 league appearances last term.

Fulham have also enquired for Cardiff left back Joe Bennett but it is unlikely for both deals to go through and it is thought that Poundje is the preferred option.

A big question on many Fulham fans lips is what does this mean for the Diego Rolan deal? As both players are team mates at Bordeaux and this may help bring Rolan to the cottage. Currently, there are no further updates in terms of Rolan but updates will be put on here whenever I have them.
